Age Profile - Isaia

I want to do these for everyone, but I have a short attention span so we'll see how that goes.

I've always found it interesting to see how characters change over time, and for me at least, timeskips have always been a part of my story even if the third part is kind of hazy, hurrrrr.

Isaia doesn't actually show up until Part 2, and I don't know yet what he does in Part 3, but I still like to imagine how his character is shaped over time, even if it's just aesthetically.

In his youth Isaia was a soldier in the prolonged war between Tokema and Andar, and to his credit he was pretty good at what he did. I like to think of him in contrast to Kathan, who was really never at ease with his role in the war; Isaia saw it as a duty he was happy to fulfill. He was a talented swordsman with enough determination and common sense to lead others.

And then one day it all kind of went to shit. The natural order of Fate has been decaying, and once in a blue moon it lets people cheat death, but at a cost. Those who live when they should have died fill an uneasy role in the world, as the natural order pushes against them, feeling threatened by this speck of chaos in Fate's plan. This constant sense of un-belonging literally drove him a bit mad.

I don't like to think that Isaia was ever a particularly virtuous character, or that his misfortune is all Sar's fault, but rather he's just lost a great deal of his moral compass and doesn't know (or care) what to do about it.

BUT YEAH SO ANYWAY I like his tattoos. I always wanted to draw him with flower tattoos and now I have an excuse. I tried sketching him with longer hair for his older design, but it just felt wrong. I like to think he's become more reformed (or at least, less of a sociopath) by then, and the shorter hair fits.
