In my first ever tutorial, I show you how to make a lightbox by stealing doors off Ikea furniture.
The end.
But for serious. I decided the quickest way to ink my Generation comic was traditionally, but I figured we would have some perspex laying around to use (actually, my first idea was to use my scanner bed. THAT WAS A GREAT IDEA. RIGHT? BECAUSE THE LIGHT IS TOTALLY ALWAYS ON)
But we didn't have any, so I was like... "Fuck, man. What's some hard transparent thing I can use?"
And there it was, like a beacon. Motherfucking Ikea furniture to the rescue. So I popped the door off one of our cabinets (Very easy, being Ikea furniture and all; you just have to lift it). Get a lamp, and presto. Instant lightbox with a lipped edge to keep your pages in place.
Inking done with a sepia Copic nib pen, Copic E71 'Champagne', and I-C comic paper
Does anyone know a good price for actual, non-IKEA furniture lightboxes? My art teacher got a good one for about $60 and I want to know if that's a good price.
it works just as well on a sunny day!
