Whee~ The reverse version of "Before the precipice" [link]

The sketches for these two pieces freaked me out a little today though. I was sketching the rest of this in the sun outside, and when I flipped over the page I caught the outline of the other image through the paper and super-imposed on itself (The rough outline for this was traced over the other). They matched up in this eerie way so it was a little weird

. I like the sketch of Precipice better than this one though... I thought this one wouldn't come up as well but it did in the end, so I'm happy.

I have this thing with drawing his eyes in that he tends to have heavy shadowing above and below the eye. I'm not exactly sure why, but I always imagine him as looking slightly harrowed or tired ;/. I wonder if those rings would get annoying after a while...? The idea for them suddenly sprung into my head when I was thinking of detailing for the picture (By nature it was always going to be less visually detailed than the other). I figure as long as the chain wasn't too short it wouldn't be bothersone. While matching up the two pictures I realised that his shoulders are too wide though :/... but I wanted this to be identicle to the other one (Some of the lineart has been borrowed for that purpose), so they've both been left as they are. The emotion is harder for me to guage in this picture though. It's kind of... mixed. It was meant to have this slightly seething undertone, as if he were fighting with the other half of the picture, but I think I drew his mouth wrong for that >_>

Gurrrh, anyway... I have more piccies to finish for Supanova now X3. Me and Caleyndar and most likely going to Supanova instead of Animania for this years Artists Alley. Animania's package ain't as good as last year, unfortunately. I might turn both of these into a double sided bookmark or plain old A sized prints. I'll have to see what colour does to them. But now I gotta stop procrastinating and finish studying :/

I'm sorry, i'm unfamiliar with your art and characters etc, but is Kagae a character of yours, or did you take him for a manga etc?

Please say you'll go supanova! Me and my brother want to go both, but I doubt we'll save up enough ;_;
I'm def buying something, and this drawing (and the other) would look absolutely yummy on my currently blank wall... hehe

Thanks for the comment X3. As it so happens, I just updated my journal with some info and ideas for what I'll be printing for Supanova this year~

. Unless something calamitous happens, I'll definitely be in attendance at Supanova's artists alley. Sasuke will come along too

(I don't have any new prints planned for him yet though, but we'll wait and see~)

Oh yeah, and very sorry I never got back to you about that server PM you sent me

. I'm not on as often as I use to be, and sometimes I just forget to reply to things.

ah! ^^ VERY nice! the eye has so much detail, and yet, its still simple enough to give a clean impression. *nod* very clean-cut.
you know, these two pictures make me think of an old pooh cartoon i saw as a child. it was about a pair of rabbit-shaped bookends.

odd. (haha) But anyway, its a great counterpart to the other one. ^^ *cant resist the need to favorite it for need of a matching pair*
