I stumbled upon Seph-Hunter's interpretation of this project [link] and thought it sounded like a cool idea (the premise is to pick a book, flip to page 100, and draw it as a comic). It's been a while since I've done a full comic and it seemed a good practice excuse before I start my Doctor Who comic hahaha.
Grabbed for my Wheel of Time books fervently wishing for a Mat chapter, and lo and behold, the first book I pick up hits the spot perfectly. THANKS SHADOW RISING.
In this scene, Mat comes to the sad realisation he's staying in Tear for the hot chicks. He also acts like a jerk (which is a common trait for like the first four books, lol). I love me some Mat but it's totally true.
Behold the inconsistencies in Mat's face from panel to panel! lolololol. His three-legged stool is tiny :[
CHRIST, DIALOGUE SCENES HAVE SO MUCH TEXT. HAND GESTURES EVERYWHERE. Some panels are a bit naff but I saw this more as a paneling and pacing excercise than perfecting artwork.
