[Post Warrior Within edit] *pouts*. And after all that squee-ing, the game wasn't as good as the first one >_>. Angst is over-rated

*Insert dramatic music for title*. What? It's the whole premise of the game, dang it... or something. The thing in the BG is chasing our poor Prince because he was naughty and defied fate... So fate sends out evil-thingemie-Dahaka to kill him! (as you do...) Bitchin, ain't it...

Who?: The Prince from Prince of Persia: Warrior Within
What?: All photoshop 6 for the colouring (around 45 layers), space paper and pacer for the sketch. Wacom Graphire 2.
Time?: Uh, I stayed up to 3am on two days colouring it... maybe around 20 hours all up?
Favness: The details and Dahaka in the BG~ :D
Blahness: Bland pose... Not entirely sure about the text down the bottom.

His armour causes me great pain. Yes it does indeed.... anyway~ I'd heard about Prince of Persia: Sands of Time last year but I never bought it. Then while I was browsing on Gamespot I saw some character art for the new game which made me go "Teh sex! *splutter*", or something fangirlish to that effect. And now I've gone all trippy and nostalgic over the series (I remember playing the old Prince of Persia, with those chompy doorways and falling tiles), and bought Sands of Time, and I have Warrior Within on pre-order too. Sands of Time was great but too short... Only took me 9 hours first time ;(. But the Prince is so quirky and cute! Hehe, I don't think I've laughed so much in a game as I did in Sands of Time. And now in Warrior Within the Prince has gone all angstified, for lack of a more academic term. But doesn't he just look so cool anyway? He's like... a sexy Persian version of Aragorn with lop-sided hair. His outfit is utter fangirl material, I tell you!

The original (craptastic) sketch of this was drawn for the PoP2 street team thingie. Although it's kind of superfluous really, since anything I could win by being an active member can only be shipped to people in the US (Nooooo~ I want a nifty poster...). And then I kind of liked the sketch, so after the bulk of my exams were over I decided to colour it~ His armour didn't actually take that long, although comparatively it was the most time-consuming aspect... I used some swirly brushes for the initial design, but the highlights had to be drawn in by hand. I'm glad I did it though, since I think it looks a lot better this way :D

I need to draw more dynamic poses, but my anatomy in that area kind of sucks *sighs*. Oh well. I like it~! So there :P

And now I just wish the game would come out so I can play it *whines*. Tales of Symphonia can tide me over when that comes out, I suppose.

wow. just wow. that's fantastic. i love the coloring, the anatomy is great, shadows, value and everythin is just really well done. Nice. :clap:

Even though the amor caused you great pain, I think it's lovely done ^_^ Oh the possiblities of staying up till 3am drawing >.>

the details on the armor and the background are outstanding .. i really love the whole atmoshphere of thie drawing .. he looks in pain and exhausted ..
it really deserves the time u've spent on .. and the title is quite interesting ;P

The detail on that armour alone is worth a 'whee!' The rest of the pic just is fabulous as well. I remember playing PoP on my old Game Boy -- it was my favourite game, although I fell into spikes a lot. There's a sense of anticipation here, like a deep breath, a rare moment of rest before plunging into the next battles, the next set of traps. :D
